Sarah Partington already had a successful interior design business here in Hampshire. But for a long time, she’d had a dream of sharing her years of experience with people who perhaps couldn’t afford to work one to one with a designer.
That dream became Paper Room Creative. It’s all about making the design process feel less daunting, and helping homeowners create a home that’s both practical and beautiful. Sarah does this through a range of physical and digital products that give people the tools to design their dream home themselves.
Sarah had a choice to make first. Should she add this new side of things to her existing website, or give Paper Room Creative a home of its own?
She also spent a long time weighing up whether to set up a template website herself or go fully bespoke. In the end, she decided on a bespoke ecommerce website, and I was really excited to be working with her.
Selling was at the heart of this website. Sarah wanted to sell both physical and digital products through the same shop, and each needed its own customer journey and its own setup behind the scenes.
On top of that, there were lots of lovely free downloads that needed to connect to MailerLite. Customers needed to be able to book calls through Dubsado and pay through Stripe. The whole thing had to work beautifully on every screen and reflect Sarah’s elegant brand.
I built the shop on WooCommerce, setting up separate journeys for physical and digital products so each one runs smoothly for the customer.
Then came the thoughtful extras. Customised emails that change depending on what someone has bought. Mini landing pages for individual products. An in stock notifier, so customers hear as soon as something is back. And add to basket pop ups to keep the shopping experience easy.
The real challenge was adding all of this without the site ever feeling cluttered. Every feature needed to sit quietly within Paper Room Creative’s clean and cohesive brand.
Sarah’s new website is inspiring, easy to use and a real pleasure to browse. All the clever bits are working away in the background, while the front of the site stays calm and elegant.
I’m so proud of how it turned out, and so is Sarah. You can take a look around at paperroomcreative.co.uk.

“April has been amazing! She built a fully bespoke e-commerce site for my new business. It took me a long time to decide between a template service I could build myself or going bespoke and I am so glad I made the investment to go bespoke. April implemented my vision perfectly and was always able to overcome any challenges to make it happen. Her speed, communication, reliability, professionalism and technical skills are 10 out of 10. I’ve really enjoyed working with her and the handover of the finished site has been seamless. I’d one hundred percent recommend her. Thanks April!”
