As a website design and SEO agency, it really helps us get our creative engine running when a client comes along who just screams originality. A client with beautiful aesthetics and a fully realised brand. A business owner with a clear vision… but who, perhaps, needs a helping hand getting there.
Say a big #TeamLBB hello to Nat Aubry Photography 📸
Nat is an interiors and lifestyle photographer who collaborates with creatives across the UK and Europe by capturing ‘rich texture and layers, and saturated colours bathed in natural light’.
Oof – it even reads like a massive hug, doesn’t it?
Nat initially came to us for a website audit, but as you’ll see that service quickly developed into much, much more.
Read on for the 411 on this exciting project.
PIN FOR LATER: 5 MISTAKES TO AVOID WHEN LAUNCHING YOUR WEBSITE
Initially, Nat came to us for a website audit. She knew that her website wasn’t fulfilling the job she needed it to do – but she didn’t know what to do about it.
The main issues were that the website had become outdated. It wasn’t fully responsive and it wasn’t ranking very well on Google, resulting in a lack of enquiries (and, afterall, what’s the point in a website if it isn’t driving business?). She also couldn’t get the feel and layout that she wanted for the website. She had some brilliant ideas but orchestrating them was another story.
Essentially, she wanted to boost her Google position and welcome more website enquiries. In addition, she wanted to have a better understanding of the areas of the website that could be improved.
We completed the website audit… We presented it to Nat… And she decided that, actually, we were the ones she wanted to bring it to life!
So, with our sleeves officially rolled up, we got to work on a full website overhaul and in-depth SEO strategy.

Nat’s work really does speak for itself – the second you see her stunning portfolios, you know that she’s a woman who you would love to work with.
But, for that to happen, those ideal customers need to find their way to her website and to see her work in a clear, concise way. And that’s exactly what we were able to provide for her.
A full design refresh was needed to get the desired layout and functionality that Nat craved. This included taking her (beautiful!) branding and strategically weaving it throughout the site, adjusting the design of pages, exploring different customer pathways and ensuring there was the perfect balance of imagery, text and space.

Nat’s photography is sublime – it’s full of emotion, colour and meaning. However, this wasn’t as easy to uncover on the previous iteration of her website.
We wanted her work to be front and centre; there could be no avoiding it. We integrated a series of portfolio pages to highlight her work with interiors, lifestyle, gatherings and creatives. Each portfolio includes a sliding gallery of some of her favourite pieces of work – a gorgeous celebration of her extraordinary work.

Nat’s work is all about the stories that her images tell. The unspoken words that can eternally be captured in a frozen frame. It was important to Nat that there was a section on the website where these stories could be put beneath a spotlight.
We added a ‘Client Stories’ page to the website which incorporated many of her past clients, with each highlight leading to a full page case study – but told in a creative way – about the story behind the client.
Beneath each story we added a series of images from the photoshoot, giving another opportunity for potential customers to be ‘wowed’ by Nat’s work.

Nat’s work has been featured in a number of high profile publications – and we were all in agreement that this deserved a massive toot on the ol’ horn.
We added a ‘Featured In’ page to the newly refreshed website which showed visitors where Nat’s work had appeared, linking out to PDF copies of the magazine.

One of Nat’s challenges was that she found WordPress tricky to navigate. This meant that often she wasn’t completing necessary updates, leading to ripple effects on her SEO. We spent time really simplifying the admin side of things, showing Nat how to use it and removing any needless sections.
We also worked through a bunch of major updates that had been neglected, ready for our ENORMOUS SEO overhaul.
SEO isn’t everyone’s cup of tea… But it’s our perfect brew with a biscuit on the side.
Let’s be frank – there was hardly any SEO on Nat’s previous site. Yoast was outdated, there were no header tags, no structure and no key phrases. It’s therefore no surprise that customers weren’t finding her website.
And what felt like a huge job to Nat was completely in our wheelhouse. We created a complete SEO strategy – and implemented it – to ensure the new version of the website was 100% up to scratch.

Nat absolutely loved the website – and so did we! The flow is now effortless, with a clean, visually appealing design that really highlights her first-class photography.

“I had the best experience revamping my website with April at Littlebigbox. I found WordPress a difficult platform to navigate – and I also wanted to fit a lot in the website. I was able to provide April with my visual needs and wants, for her to work in the background and make it happen. The process was very collaborative throughout – and she was in touch with me, following my comments and tweaks and with clear action points. I am glad I called upon April to work on this project and would recommend her to any WordPress users.”
