It’s been a busy month for the team at Littlebigbox – brilliant new projects, client wins and exciting website launches. We love the hustle and bustle of it all, and always revel in the joy of seeing our work appreciated by clients and positively impacting their business.
Which is why we are so proud of our project with Kitchen Door Guru; a collaborative piece of work that has already benefited the company enormously.
Read on for the second edition in The LBB Case Study Series.
Like Littlebigbox, Kitchen Door Guru are based in Hampshire. They’re a leading provider or bespoke, beautiful new kitchens and refurbishments and cover everything from classic to modern, simplistic to innovative.
They’re well known for their meticulous attention to detail and their flexible service… However, this reputation wasn’t clear on their old website. It was outdated, it didn’t fully represent their offering and it didn’t speak to their diverse audience.
Adding to that, it had very limited usability and felt clunky to navigate; as a result, their bounce rate was higher than they wanted it to be and they weren’t pulling the conversions they needed.
Kitchen Door Guru were already a well established company with a 25 year background in the industry; however, the time had come where they wanted to take things to the next level and really prioritise their online presence.
They weren’t ranking well on Google and far too often visitors were landing on their website but not sticking around. In addition, they didn’t feel like their visual branding was memorable or recognisable and this was impacting the overall awareness of their company.
We knew that their website needed its functionality amped up considerably; it needed to be more user friendly and fully responsive across all platforms. We worked closely with the Kitchen Door Guru team to figure out the best user journey across the site so that we could improve customer experience and keep people on their pages for longer.
This included improving:
We also wanted to help boost Kitchen Door Guru’s SEO ranking, and so we set up the site with full SEO and integrated a blog to ensure that regular, tailored content could be uploaded. As part of our partnership, we provided their team with a guide on how to utilise and upload content to the blog so that they could continuously improve the SEO beyond their time with Littlebigbox.
At the same time, Kitchen Door Guru were working with fellow Hampshire business, Goldfinch Marketing, on a new brand identity. Working closely with Goldfinch Marketing – a business we often collaborate with – we were able to incorporate the professional new brand across the full website, with beautiful and professional graphics, tailored fonts and a bespoke colour palette.
It’s pretty amazing to know that your hard work has paid off, isn’t it?
Already, Kitchen Door Guru have seen a huge increase in enquiries, higher engagement and a boost in their Google ranking.
Speaking of the work, their team said:
“Our company was in need of a much needed refresh of our existing website – I wanted to use a local independent company and when looking through at the work that Littlebigbox had previously done, I felt that it had the right feel for our family run business. A chat on the phone with April made me even more certain she understood what look and feel we were after. The process was excellent – the right questions asked meant that April had enough information to get our new website off the ground with little tweaks here and there to ensure that the site was user friendly for our prospective clients and looked fabulous too. We had a lot of images to load up but this appeared to be no trouble at all for April, and once live, an online tutorial gave me the knowledge to be able to edit in the future. We’ve already had very complimentary comments on our website and also our SEO is certainly getting us noticed more. I feel they are very reasonably priced, professional and knowledgeable about all things IT, and gave thoughtful, creative design for our company. Highly highly recommend!”
We asked April, our Creative Director, what was her favourite part of the project:
“I think it was the potential that I could see in the brand – they’re so well recognised and client feedback is incredible, but the website wasn’t doing them justice. We loved bringing the site back down to basics and then building it back up again, always focusing on the user experience and keeping it clean, engaging and functional.”
“However, I do love collaborative projects, and working with Goldfinch Marketing added another level of creativity to the work. We were able to bounce ideas off of one another so that both the brand and the website were effortlessly in sync.”
