Youth Options are an utterly incredible organisation – they support children and young people who need it the most to engage, develop and become empowered to achieve a better future. Established in 1937, their ethos is inspiring: and when they approached us to help them with a brand new website development and design, we could not have been keener.

What we did

The charity had experienced a lot of issues with website safety; more often than not, the website was down due to hacking. It had been built on Drupal, a notoriously tricky CMS to use (which meant the team could rarely update content), and elements of the system had become vulnerable to safety breaches. It simply wasn’t good enough – the charity couldn’t keep promoting their work, sharing their stories and running fundraising campaigns without a fully functioning, totally safe website. Plus, even when the website was live, the design wasn’t very user friendly and visitors had real issues navigating it.

All of this together meant that we had a completely fresh slate to build upon. We got to work creating a new website using WordPress with a vibrant, slick look that reflected their branding. It was important that the website included some key functionality, including donation integration (rather than needing to use an external system), event system integration, a job board for roles and volunteer work and tailored SEO to boost their ongoing donations.

The final result? Pretty epic, if we do say so ourselves. Since launching, Youth Options have seen a massive increase in enquiries, as well as brilliant feedback on how clear the entire website is. Donations have grown and the team has a renewed confidence in updating the website themselves, keeping it up to date with engaging content and getting their vital message out there to as many people as possible.
