I’ve launched my Website, what’s next?

Contrary to popular belief many of us assume that once you launch a new website, all the enquiries and orders will come flooding in…..wrong. It is extremely safe to say that it just doesn’t happen like this. Launching a new website is just the fundamental beginning of an infinite journey in an attempt to secure that lucrative sale.

Exposing your business to the trading world will certainly guarantee its rewards in time however, to make the most of your new website you must promote it and encourage traffic to it. There are a number of successful and proven ways to achieve this, take a look below……

We have compiled a list of several things you SHOULD be doing once your website has been launched, this will most certainly help increase your websites exposure and potential sales / enquiries.

1. Update your websites SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) once a month – See our SEO Step blog posts for help on this section

2. If your website has a hero banner on the homepage, make sure to update these at least once a month with latest offers, information and link these to that content. One of the first things users will see when visiting your website is your hero banner, so you want to make sure this is constantly up to date.

3. You should write a blog post at least once a month on your website and then make sure to share your post on all the social media websites you use along with a link to your blog post. This will encourage users to visit your website by viewing the blog post. If you are stuck for blog post ideas try searching on Google, for example blog post ideas for children’s parties. Once you have a list copy and paste them to a word document and select / alter the blog posts that are relevant to your business and check one off once a month.

4. Set up a newsletter to send out once a month with your latest offers, blog posts and products, make sure to keep this regular as this will prevent your customers from forgetting about you. A good website to use for setting up newsletters is www.mailchimp.com

5. Set up advertisement on social media websites, Facebook does offer quite affordable advertising and you can be quite specific with your target audience.

6. If you sell products or offer a service such as graphic design you could put together a competition on your website and social media pages offering the winner a free product or logo design. The competition could be guessing how many smarties are in a jar, this get’s everyone involved and can be a lot of fun and encourages digital dialogue.

Above are just some of the things you can be doing to help boost your website and business through cost effective marketing. Please feel free to get in touch if you have a great marketing suggestion that everyone could share and we will add it to our list – including your name and business.
