An interview with Graham, our Holistic SEO Specialist

With more and more people leaning towards the benefits of a robust SEO strategy, we thought it was only fitting to throw the attention on Graham, LBB’s Holistic SEO Specialist.

Since launching our Glow up your SEO package, it has fast become one of our most popular services. And it’s no surprise, really. As social media algorithms become more and more challenging, ad spends increasingly important and the business landscape seriously saturated, SEO is a proven way to put yourself at the top of the pile.

Which is why we’re so glad to have Graham on the team.

We’ve talked about Graham a lot, but we’re yet to dedicate a blog to him – so, guess what we’re going to do?

Here Graham shares some of his top SEO tips, what it is that brought him to the world of holistic SEO in the first place and what you can expect from working with him. Take it away Graham!

‘My ultimate objective is to convert clicks into valuable sales.’

I have a very interesting role at LBB as the Holistic SEO Specialist. My job is to optimise new and existing websites to increase visibility and drive traffic to the clients website. And do you know what? I love it.

I’ve been told I have the patience of a saint, an attribute that must be indigenous if you want to succeed as an SEO specialist. Without patience, I’d say you’re better off heading for a different career immediately. SEO is a long game, but the impact lasts far into the future.

‘My thirst for SEO was born from intrigue and I soon discovered that SEO is an absolute necessity for the very success of any website, static or ecommerce.’

I have been actively involved with all things IT and computer sciences for decades so I am no stranger to technology. Many people do not understand SEO and therefore ignorance is often bliss, until such time they discover that their website is underperforming and their competitors are leaps ahead which leaves them wondering why!

What I find interesting with SEO is the creative flexibility to satisfy the ranking laws of Google. When dealing with Google and Yoast, we are not dealing with humans: we are dealing with algorithms. That said, I have the ability to digitally negotiate and reach compromises with such algorithms to yield the best possible results for any site of any size. A nifty trick to have in the toolbox.

‘SEO is a strategy that must be strategically executed to maximise the full potential of online success.’

There are so many variables and deliverables associated with SEO that many people are not even aware of. Many people believe that SEO is a matter of clicking the left mouse button a few times and hey presto! Sadly, that simply isn’t the case. SEO will always remain a work in progress and will always be stigmatised as a necessary evil. But the payoff is worth it a thousand times over.

‘Mostly I am asked, how can I increase my online visibility and sales? My answer is simple: strategise!’

The thing I really love about SEO strategy is that it isn’t dry – again, I think this is a popular misconception. The secret sauce when it comes to SEO lies in the creative side of it. Sprinkle in some creative thinking, and your results sky rocket.

I’m glad to see more people recognising this, and I have definitely recognised a significant and positive shift in attitude towards SEO, especially from the business sector. Businesses are becoming increasingly aware that competition is ever growing and it’s a race to the top to lead the market. This shift has been prompted by education. Since LBB launched our SEO services, we have invested a significant amount of energy educating clients to the tangible benefits and rewards of SEO optimisation. This has been really well received, and personally it’s something I love to do.

‘The demand for SEO will only increase.’

Algorithms and plugins will become more efficient and sophisticated which means I must be one step ahead as an SEO specialist. Perennial learning as a specialist is the only option to lead the way for sustainable digital marketing and the success it brings. I’m a lifelong learner and am always looking for new ways to expand my knowledge and offering as an SEO specialist. Only then can I give our clients the very best results and celebrate a job well done.
